Trichy or Tiruchirapalli, located 320 km from Chennai, is the 4th largest city in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. - Rock Fort Temple –
The Rock Fort is the only outcrop that rises to a height of 83 meters in the otherwise flat land of Trichy. It is one of the oldest rocks in the world. But the main attraction of this site is the Rock Fort Temple at the peak. To be reached through 344 rock-cut steps, this temple contains inscriptions belonging to the 3rd century B.C.
- Srirangam –
The most important pilgrim center to be visited on any tour to Tiruchirapalli is Srirangam - located in an island at a distance of 7 kms from the city. Surrounded by River Cauvery on one side and by its tributary Kollidam on the other, Srirangam is an island town housing the gigantic Sriranganathaswami Temple.
