    Duration: 8 Days / 7 Nights

    Day 1: Departure Delhi (Wednesday) Jaipur
    Board the Palace on Wheels at the Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi. The train leaves at 1830 hrs.

    Among the top ten luxury trains in the world, the Palace on Wheels takes its passengers on a journey back in time. This luxury train takes a week to cover the delightful state of Rajasthan besides Agra and is a wonderful way to acquaint the self with North India's fascinating culture and glorious past.

    Dinner and overnight stay on the train.

    Day 02: Jaipur (Thursday), Arrival - 0200 Hrs
    Delightfully decorated elephants and traditional music will welcome you to the "pink city" of Jaipur. Later, set out on a sightseeing tour around Jaipur.

    Tour includes lunch at the grand Rambagh Palace, one of the finest hotels in Jaipur. Also visit the Hawa Mahal or the "Palace of winds" followed by the majestic Amer Fort that is one of the most impressive medieval structures in Rajasthan. The Jantar Mantar that was built by Sawai Jai Singh II also features on your tour itinerary.

    Return to the Palace on Wheels and depart for the desert city of Jaisalmer at 1930 hrs. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

    Day 03: Jaisalmer (Friday), Arrival - 0815 Hrs
    After arrival in Jaisalmer, set out on a sightseeing tour of the city.

    Also known as the "Golden City", Jaisalmer is located in the heart of the Thar Desert. A sightseeing tour of this city will include a visit to the Jaisalmer Fort that was built 1156 AD. This will be followed by a visit to the beautiful havelis of Jaisalmer. Enjoy some shopping before an exciting camel ride on the Sam sand dunes. Dinner accompanied by cultural programmes will be arranged at a Jaisalmer hotel.

    Return to the Palace on Wheels that leaves for Jaipur at 2300 hrs.

    Day 04: Jodhpur (Saturday), Arrival - 0700 Hrs
    Arrive at Jodhpur in the morning.

    Referred to as the "Blue City", Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD. It is also the second largest city in Rajasthan and boasts of a good number of attractions to attract people from all over.

    A sightseeing tour of Jodhpur will include a visit to the grand Mehrangarh Fort. Situated a 125 meter high hillock, this fort houses many delightful palaces besides a museum. Also visit Jaswant Thada and have a look at some interesting royal cenotaphs made of white marble. This will be followed by lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace.

    Palace on Wheels leaves for Sawai Madhopur at 1530 hrs.

    Day 05: Sawai Madhopur (Sunday), Arrive - 0400 Hrs
    Arrive at Sawai Madhopur early in the morning.

    Sawai Madhopur was founded by Sawai Madho Singh I in the 18th century and is home to the famous Ranthambore National Park that attracts wildlife lovers from all over the world.

    Enjoy a visit to the Ranthambore National Park in the morning.

    A considerable population of tigers inhabits the national park. If luck smiles upon you, spotting one may not be impossible. The wildlife reserve is also home to some rare species of animals and birds. Also visit the 10th century fort inside the Ranthambore National Park.

    Return to the Palace on Wheels and leave for Chittorgarh at 1030 hrs.

    Day 05: Chittorgarh (Sunday), Arrive - 1600 Hrs
    Reach Chittorgarh after a sumptuous lunch on board the Palace on Wheels.

    A tragic tale of love, sacrifice and honor, Chittorgarh still reverberates with countless tales of its past. Explore the Chittorgarh Fort and relive moments of its past glory before returning to the Palace on Wheels.

    The train leaves for Udaipur at 0530 hrs.

    Day 06: Udaipur (Monday), Arrive - 0730 Hrs
    Arrive in Udaipur in the morning.

    Known as the "City of Lakes", Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in the 16th century. Its main attractions include the Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir and the City Palace complex. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch in Udaipur and also pay a visit to the Crystal Gallery in the evening.

    Proceed to Bharatpur on board the Palace on Wheels in the evening.

    Day 07: Bharatpur (Tuesday), Arrive - 0630 Hrs
    Arrive in Bharatpur in the morning.

    Home to the renowned Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, Bharatpur was once the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal. Visit the bird sanctuary that is home to more than 300 species of birds, some of which also come from faraway places like Siberia and China.

    Travel by road to Fatehpur Sikri in a luxurious coach.

    Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted capital built by Mughal emperor Akbar. However, this ambitiously built city was later abandoned due to an acute scarcity of water. Nevertheless, this red sandstone complex is indeed a great place to visit.

    Drive back to the Palace on Wheels that leaves for Agra at 1145 hrs.

    Bharatpur
    Day 07: Agra (Tuesday), Arrival - 1430 hrs
    Arrive at Agra and set out on a sightseeing tour.

    Visit Fatehpur Sikri,. Follow this up with a visit to the enchanting Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful monuments ever beheld by man. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj is by far one of the most visited tourist attractions in India.

    Return to the Palace on Wheels for dinner. The train leaves Agra at 2300 hrs. Enjoy a good night's sleep onboard.

    Day 08: Delhi (Wednesday), Arrive - 0600 Hrs
    Arrive at the Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi at 0600 hrs.
