You will be greeted by caparisoned elephants and strains of the Shehnai… Welcome to the Pink city of Jaipur. Lunch at the Rambagh Palace. Discover the Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh fort, Amer fort…silent sentinels of a glorious era.

Palace on Wheels DAY 03 - FRIDAY   Jaisalmer >> Arrive - 0615 HRS
Arrive at the 12th century city of Jaisalmer dominated by its sandstone fort with 99 bastions. Visit the exquisitely carved havelis and palaces with their latticed windows, balconies, cupolas and facades. Experience the famed camel safaris and desert camps… and dine under the stars as the rhythm of Rajasthani music drifts into the night….

Palace on Wheels DAY 04 - SATURDAY   Jodhpur >> Arrive - 0800 HRS
Visit the magnificent Mehrangarh fort that looms over this 15th century city and the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph. Lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace - the Royal residence, a part of which is now a hotel.

Palace on Wheels DAY 05 -SUNDAY   Sawai Madhopur >> Arrive - 0400 HRS
Welcome to the beautiful 10th century fort of Ranthambhore. Surrounded by the Ranthambhore National Park, a project Tiger reserve, the imposing ramparts of the fort soar high above the visitor… still echoing tales of the glorious past.

Palace on Wheels DAY 05 -SUNDAY   Chittaurgarh >> Arrive - 1530 HRS
Images of love, scars of battles lost and won… Thrice besieged, Chittaurgarh is all this and more. Moving legends of honour and pride will echo in your mind as you proceed to Udaipur.

Palace on Wheels DAY 06 -MONDAY   Udaipur >> Arrive - 1530 HRS
The city of lakes, palaces and gardens, temples and forts…Udaipur. Lunch at the Lake Palace hotel, the former summer residence of the princes of Mewar. Enjoy the tranquility of Lake Pichola… visit the City Palace, the residence of the Maharaja of Udaipur, in all its ancient glory.

Palace on Wheels DAY 07 - TUESDAY   Bharatpur >> Arrive - 0600 HRS
A wonderland for birds, visit the renowned Keoladeo Ghana National park at Bharatpur, once the preserve of the Maharaja of Bharatpur and now a world heritage site. It is home to 300 species of birds, some flying in from as far away as Siberia and China.

Palace on Wheels DAY 07 - TUESDAY   Agra
Visit the red sandstone fort of Fatehpur Sikri. Lunch at the Mughal Sheraton in Agra and proceed to one of the most beautiful monuments ever conceived, the Taj Mahal.

Palace on Wheels DAY 08 - WEDNESDAY   Delhi >> Arrive - 0600 HRS
Breakfast on board. Arrive at Delhi Cantonment Railway Station at 0600 hrs.

Inclusions

Tariff is inclusive of travel/ catering/ conducted sightseeing/ entrance fee at monuments/ parks/ palaces/ cultural programs/ camel ride at Jaisalmer/ boat ride at Udaipur/ rickshaw ride at Bharatpur and charges for use of still cameras. Guest has to pay for usage of video cameras, liquor, laundry and other items of personal nature.

Indian passengers can pay in equivalent Rupee (INR) amount, at the exchange rate prevalent at the time of payment.

Reservations

#     50% of ticket value has to be paid at the time of confirming the booking.
#     Remaining 50% of ticket value must be paid 65 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATION

Cancellation must be advised by Fax/E-mail/Letter to The Luxury Trains. On cancellation, refund will be made. Certain amount of the ticket value will be deducted as follows.

In case of FITs

#     5% of ticket value 60 days prior to departure.

#     20% of ticket value 30-59 days prior to departure.

#     100% of ticket value between less than 30 days prior to departure.

In case of Group and Charter

#     10% of ticket value 60 days prior to departure.

#     100% of ticket value between 0 to 59 days prior to departure.

No show/En route termination of tour /Amendment

#     No Show : In case of No Show/Non-arrival of the guest no refund/adjustment in future travel will be admissible.

#     En route termination of tour : In case of termination of tour by the guest, no refund/adjustment for future travel will be admissible.

#     Amendment : No charges will be levied for amended dates of tour of Palace on Wheels and amendment will be permitted once only subject to availability.

OTHER DETAILS

MEALS: The two restaurant cars, the Maharaja and the Maharani, serve a range of Rajasthani, Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine. Menus are changed seasonally.

CLIMATE: Varies from 8^o C to 25^o C between September to March and in April around 30^o C.

CLOTHING RECOMMENDED: Light tropical / light woolens.
