Backwaters are one of the unique attractions of Kerala, a chain of canals extending about 1500 kms, with a network of 44 rivers, lagoons and lakes. Most of it is naturally formed. Here we have combined Backwaters along with Canals made for continuous traffic of men and materials.
Day 01 - Arrive Mumbai
On arrival in Mumbai, transfer to the hotel where we will be holding the rooms on ready occupancy basis. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Mumbai
Today we will explore Mumbai and visit Juhu beach, Gateway of India, Elephanta caves. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 - Arrive Trivandrum - Kovalam
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Trivandrum. On arrival in Trivandrum, transfer to the hotel in Kovalam. Later enjoy the day in the sand. At your choice from any of the centres nearby, you can pamper yourself with a herbal, body-toning massage. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 - Kovalam - Cape Comorin - Kovalam
After refreshing yourself on the beache, next morning we will go to Cape Camorin. Visit Padmanabhapuram Palace and the Archeological museum. In the evening drive back to Kovalam and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 05 - Kovalam - Varkala
This morning after breakfast we will proceed towards Varkala, one of the unspoilt beach resorts of India. You also have the option of trying some traditional body therapy here. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 - Varkala - Kumarakom
Today ride into Kumarakom - the backwater country - by speedboat or a luxury cruiser from Varkala and feel at peace in its small-town hush. Feel at home!
Day 07 - Kumarakom
Today go on a boat ride into the countryside, you will visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. If you are adventurous, you can indulge in water sports such as windsailing and water skiing. You can even take a canoe out into the quiet lakes. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 08 - Kumarakom - Periyar
Getting to Periyar is as sublime as the destination itself. A scenic journey past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular water falls and delightful trekking trails form the access to your hideaway here. On arrival check into hotel, refresh yourself and be relaxed. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 09 - Periyar
Today you might have an opportunity to meet the Tiger as we go to Periyar Tiger Reserve. Trekking with a local guide familiarizes you to the rare birds, trees and flowers that are come across. You can even set upon a walk through the plantations filled with the heady fragrance of fresh spice. A boat safari on the Periyar Lake extends a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife in its natural habitat - like the eccentric bathing habits of the wild elephants that come down to the lake. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 - Periyar - Kottayam - Backwater
In the morning, drive to Kottayam, from where you will board the traditionally decorated houseboats, you will start a 2 day and 2 nights water cruise which will end on the morning of day 12 at Allepey.
Day 12 - Allepey - Cochin
Pick up from Allepey and transfer to hotel in Cochin. Afternoon, city tour covering Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace. In the evening, enjoy Kathakali dance show - traditional art form of Kerala. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 - Cochin - Calicut
Morning drive to Calicut. On arrival check into the hotel. Afternoon half-day city tour covering - Pazhassiraja Museum, The Art Gallery and Krishna Art Museum. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 14 - Calicut - Treehouse
Ensconced in Vythiri - 3750ft above sea leavel, in the Western Ghats among the Wyanad Hills in North Kerala at a distance of 65 kms from Calicut enroute to Ooty or Mysore is the biggest kept secret of Kerala. The access to the Treehouse 86 ft from the ground is by an indigenous cane elevator. Spend your time at the beautiful accommodation in Tree house.
Day 15 - Treehouse
Day free to explore the area. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16 - Treehouse - Ooty
Morning drive to Ooty. On arrival check in into hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17 - Ooty
Day free to explore the surroundings. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 18 - Ooty - Mysore
Morning drive to Mysore. On arrival check into the hotel. Afternoon city tour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19 - Mysore - Bangalore
Morning city tour then drive to Bangalore. On arrival check in into hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20 - Bangalore - Mumbai - Departure
Morning city tour of Bangalore, followed by departure transfer to catch the flight to Mumbai. On arrival you will be taken to hotel where we will be holding a few rooms for wash and change. Have dinner and be transferred to the airport to catch your International flight.
