Introduction:

History:
The history of the George Castle dates back to the time of the King George-V, who came to Shivpuri for a nightlong stay. So, the Gwalior Royalty erected the George Castle in the honor of the king, so that he gets maximum protection and shelter in that region. All this happened when King George-V was on his journey to India, in the year 1911. But according to the sources, the king shot a tiger on his way, and did not require a halt at Shivpuri.
