Extending over an area of 257 sq kilometer, on the South of the wide Satpura Range the Pench National Park is one of the most important tourist spots in India. The Northern region of the Pench National Park however lies in the Nagpur Region, The Government of Maharashtra declared it as a National Park in the year 1975, but in the year 1999, the status of a National Park was attributed to the Pench Region.
