Introduction

Description:
The most outstanding feature of the Siddhanath Temple is the frescos of elephants. The fresco is 15 meters high and the elephants are carved over a stone slab at its outer borders. The roof and the upper portion of the temple have intricate carvings along with artistic decorations. Verandahs with columns carved out in various shapes surround the shrine of the Siddhanath Temple.
History:
The Siddhanath Temple in Omkareshwar is an olden shrine which was constructed by the Brahmins during the medieval times. The temple was severely damaged due to the Muslim invasion of Muhammad Ghazni. But later on Siddhanath Temple was repaired by the Marathas.

To reach the Siddhanath Temple, the nearest airport from Omkareshwar is at Indore, which is 77 kilometers away. The near most railway station is at Omkareshwar Road, which is 12 kilometers away and is on the Ratlam-Khandwa section of the Western Railway. Bus services are available on a regular basis from Indore, Ujjain and other places.
