Hindola Mahal
Hindola Mahal also known as the Swinging Palace belongs to the time of the Ghiyas-ud-din’s reign. The palace was known as the Swinging Palace because of its sloping walls. The Hindola Mahal is a part of the Royal Enclave in the northern edge of the notable ruined fort of Mandu. It is believed to be a 15th century construction.
Description
Designed primarily as an audience hall, the Hindola Mahal is built as a T-shaped structure. The architecture of the palace includes stone tracery windows, sandstone trellis work and wonderfully molded pillars.
The detailed construction of a massive well near the Hindola Mahal in very interesting as underground vaulted chambers were built to provide hot and cold waters respectively.
There are many other interesting places in the complex Taveli Mahal, Dilawar Khan’s Mosque, Nahar Jharokha and Gada Shah’s Shop.
