One popular opinion behind the history of the Sas Bahu temples is that the name was originally Sehestra-Bahu which eventually was transformed to Sas Bahu.
Description of Sas Bahu Temples
The twin temples of Sas Bahu in Gwalior Fort are built on two pillars. These pillars stand next to each other with one larger than the other. These adjoining temples display intricate carvings, sculptures and art work. There is a beautifully carved Lotus that embellishes the roof above the marvelously sculpted walls and pillars.
How To Reach Sas Bahu Temples
One can take the regular flights that operate from Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and Indore. To reach Gwalior by Air. There are regular bus services from Gwalior to Agra, Jhansi, Shivpuri. Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur. The main rail line from Delhi to Mumbai also halts at Gwalior.
