Introduction
The Chaunsat Yogini Temple is the other name for Indian Architectural elegance. Every Indian is proud of his own architectural heritage because once they come across the splendid temples of the Chaunsat Yogini; they shall feel the pulse of the architects of India.
In the ancient days the Tantric deities had special significance and they were worshipped with full attention and care. It is said that they are the most powerful gods of the earth and they can give everything and also can take away everything if they likes.
The Chaunsat Yogini Temple is located at a hillock top, and one has to rise to the top through a series of steep steps. Atop the hillock the iridescent Narmada is clearly visible. The white Marbles that makes up the entire region, and the moonlit night makes the scene all the more romantic and charming.
In side the temple, that has been dedicated to Mother Durga, and has been constructed in the 10th century. The exquisitely designed deities belong to the Kalchuri Period, and the deities are considered to be the Goddesses of worship according to the Tantra Religious Faith. There is an underground passage to Durgavati's palace, so, perhaps the temple has been dedicated to Mother Goddess Durga.
