Bandhavgarh is the highest hill station at Bandhavgarh and from it the name has been derived. It is one of the remaining tourist destinations in India, because of the presence of the Indian National Animal or the Royal Bengal Tigers over here.
According to the legend, when Rama, the epic hero of Ramayana, was on his way back home, after defeating the demon king Ravana, he stopped at the Bandhavgarh. The two dedicated Hanuman followers of Rama, who built the bridge to connect the island with mainland, have built the Bandhavgarh town.
There is a very long record of the Bandhavgarh town. There had been numerous rulers who have come to the throne of the Bandhavgarh, and gradually their dynasties have undergone rampant ruins in the hands of the Mughals and the Lodis. The National Park of Bandhavgarh has been specially assigned to the Royal Bengal Tigers of India.
The main tourist attraction in Bandhavgarh is the Bandhavgarh Fort. It is a high cliff that has the peak of the height of 2625 feet, and it belongs to the Maharaja of Rewa. In order to come here one needs to take special permission from the authority.
