Introduction
The famous Neyyar Dam is situated on the foothills of the mighty Western Ghats at distance of 32 kms to the east of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The dam was constructed in 1958 on the basin of the river Neyyar and its tributaries - Mullayar and Kallar. The dam stands at 90-1800 meters above sea level. This picturesque dam site functions as a popular picnic spot with a placid lake, watch tower, crocodile farm, lion safari park and deer park.
