The Festival in Tripura
Every year in the months of July and August, a multi-colored Boat Race is organized by the Information Cultural Affairs & Tourism Department, Tripura at Rudrasagar Lake. This Boat Race is extremely popular in the region, in which people from various parts of the state come and participates. During the Boat Race, the Rudrasagar Lake gets adorned by a plethora of colors. This lake is located about 55 km away from Agartala near Melaghar and Gandacherra. Having a water area of 5.3 sq. km, the lake witnesses a large number of migratory birds in every winter. Besides hosting the Boat Race, the lake provides boating facility for the visiting tourists.
