Modhera Dance Festival is the festival of traditional classical dances performed in an atmosphere in which they were originally presented in. That is why this festival uses as its backdrop the Sun Temple at Modhera in Mehsana district. Dedicated to Lord Surya or the Sun God, this temple is decorated by ancient sculptures related to the Sun God. The festival is held for a period of three days in the month of January and is organized by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat.
The most prominent feature of the temple is that due to its positional factor, the first rays of the Sun illuminate the deity through the main entrance. It is definitely a sight to be captured in your memory for lifetime.
