Day 01: Departure Delhi (Wednesday)
Start the Palace on Wheels tour of India at the Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi. The train leaves the station at 1830 hrs.

Day 02: Jaipur (Thursday), Arrival - 0200 Hrs
You will be welcomed to Jaipur by gaily-decorated elephants with traditional music playing in the background. Later, set out on a sightseeing tour around Jaipur.
Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 17th century. With its rich history and varied attractions, it is one the most visited tourist destinations in India today.
Tour includes lunch at the grand Rambagh Palace, a fine heritage hotel in Jaipur. Follow this up with a visit to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds) and the majestic Amer Fort that is one of the most impressive medieval structures in Rajasthan. The Jantar Mantar built by Sawai Jai Singh II is the next stop.
Return to the Palace on Wheels and depart for the desert city of Jaisalmer at 1930 hrs.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 03: Jaisalmer (Friday), Arrival - 0815 Hrs
On arrival in Jaisalmer, set out on a sightseeing tour of the city.
Popularly referred to as the "Golden City", Jaisalmer is situated in the very heart of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. As part of the sightseeing tour, visit the Jaisalmer Fort that was built 1156 AD by a Bhati Rajput ruler named Jaisal. This will be followed by a visit to some beautiful havelis of Jaisalmer. Indulge in some shopping before an exciting camel ride on the Sam sand dunes. Dinner accompanied by cultural programmes will be arranged at a Jaisalmer hotel.
Day 04: Jodhpur (Saturday), Arrival - 0700 Hrs
Arrive at Jodhpur in the morning.
Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD and is also referred to as the "Blue City". It is also the second largest city in Rajasthan and boasts of a good number of attractions to delight its visitors.
Visit the grand Mehrangarh Fort that is situated on a 125-meter high hillock. The fort houses many delightful palaces and a museum. The next stop is Jaswant Thada where you can have a look at some interesting royal cenotaphs made of white marble. Follow this up with lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace.
The Palace on Wheels tour of India will take you to Sawai Madhopur. The train leaves at 1530 hrs.
Day 05: Sawai Madhopur (Sunday), Arrive - 0400 Hrs
Arrive at Sawai Madhopur early in the morning.
Founded by Sawai Madho Singh I in the 18th century, Sawai Madhopur is home to the famous Ranthambore National Park that attracts wildlife lovers from all over the world.
Enjoy a visit to the Ranthambore National Park in the morning.
The park is home to a good number of tigers. Therefore it is quite possible that you come across one during a jungle safari in Ranthambore. The wildlife reserve is also home to other rare species of animals and birds. Besides, you can visit the 10th century fort inside the Ranthambore National Park.
Return to the Palace on Wheels and leave for Chittorgarh at 1030 hrs.
Day 05: Chittorgarh (Sunday), Arrive - 1600 Hrs
Reach Chittorgarh after a sumptuous lunch on board the Palace on Wheels.
A saga of love, sacrifice and honor, Chittorgarh still reverberates with countless tales of its past. Explore the Chittorgarh Fort that was built in the 7th century and was once adorned with beautiful palaces within its sprawling ramparts. Very few of the structures have survived the onslaught of time. Nevertheless, a visit to the fort is an experience to remember.
The train leaves for Udaipur at 0530 hrs.
Day 06: Udaipur (Monday), Arrive - 0730 Hrs
Arrive in Udaipur in the morning.
Known as the "City of Lakes", Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in the 16th century. Situated by the Pichola Lake, Udaipur is home to many delightful attractions like Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir and the City Palace complex. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch in Udaipur and also pay a visit to the Crystal Gallery in the evening.
Proceed to Bharatpur on board the Palace on Wheels in the evening.
Day 07: Bharatpur (Tuesday), Arrive - 0630 Hrs
Arrive in Bharatpur in the morning.
Bharatpur is home to the renowned Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary. Once the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal, Bharatpur is an ornithologist's delight. Visit the bird sanctuary that is home to more than 300 species of birds, some of which also come from faraway places like Siberia and China.
Travel by road to Fatehpur Sikri in a luxurious coach.
Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted capital built by Mughal emperor Akbar. However, this ambitiously built city was later abandoned due to an acute scarcity of water. Nevertheless, this red sandstone complex is indeed a great place to visit.
Drive back to the Palace on Wheels that leaves for Agra at 1145 hrs.
Day 07: Agra (Tuesday), Arrival - 1430 hrs
Set out on a sightseeing tour on arrival in Agra.
The former stronghold of the Mughals, Agra is part of the famous Golden Triangle tourist circuit in India today. Visit the enchanting Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful monuments ever beheld by man. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj is by far one of the most visited tourist attractions in India.
Return to the Palace on Wheels for dinner. The train leaves Agra at 2300 hrs. Enjoy a good night's sleep onboard.
Day 8 - Wednesday: Delhi
Arrive at the Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi at 0600 hrs.
