Location
Delhi is situated in North India, at 28.38°N latitude and 77.12°E longitude. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, this capital city is surrounded by the state of Haryana on the North, West and South and by the state of Uttar Pradesh on the East. Because of its location, Delhi is an ideal starting point from which to begin your tour of North India. Climate
Delhi's climate varies greatly. It is very hot in summer (April - July) and cold in winter (December - January). The average temperature can vary from 25°C to 46°C during the summer and 22°C to 5°C during the winter.
In summer adequate precautions need to be taken, to avoid the intense heat, such as wearing light cotton clothing, wearing a hat or sunshade while going outdoors and drinking plenty of liquids. In winter, wearing warm or woolen clothing will protect you from the cold.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Delhi is during February and March, during the pleasant spring season when flowers are in bloom, and from August to November, after the monsoon rains have reduced the intensity of the summer heat.
